Nowadays the only reminder of Ermioni's shipbuilding history is the ferry to Athens.
The peloton will head landwards into wooded areas that will protect the riders from the sea wind. When the riders move into more sparsely populated areas they face poorly maintained roads and cobble paves. It is likely that a small group of riders will separate from the bunch during these pave sections.
The final kilometers are flat and easy, so the finish is ideal for a rider with a powerful sprint if they have any energy left in the tank.
